* This vessel comes from a site now known as the Holden Lake site. It is a Mississippi Plain bottle with most of the neck missing. There appears to be a large fire spall that came off during the firing process. Fire spalls occur when vessels are not dried long enough before firing or when the ratio of shell to clay is not right.
