• Hampson ID: SP_3184
  • Form: Bottle

This vessel is a short-necked Mississippian Plain bottle from Shelby Place and has four dimples evenly spaced around the body. Note the numerous small holes in the surface of this vessel; these were produced by the disintegration of particles of shell temper. The darker bands visible on the archival image of this small bottle are results of the photographic process, not attributes of the vessel itself.
