Hampson acquired this bottle from Gene Bucham. It is a Mississippian Plain vessel with a disk base, the edge of which is notched to create a rope effect. It exhibits an unusually wide neck with a lip that is beveled on the interior. This style is uncommon in the Hampson collection and represents a very late prehistoric or protohistoric, De Soto Period vessel.
